APH&HS – IDSP – Prevention of Water Born Diseases – Administrative
checklist for effective supervision - certain instructions – reg.

All
the SPHO’s/ MO’s in the district are hereby instructed to vigilant over the
adverse news / unusual events if any reported in your jurisdiction due to
drought / rains (due to not availability of safe drinking water / contaminated
drinking water) there might be a chance to get water born diseases.
Hence, you are requested to monitor
the field level staff and instruct them to thoroughly inspect the drinking
water sources and the sources should be chlorinated and provided safe drinking
water to the public. The MPHEO/CHO of
the concerned PHC is the responsible person for control and prevention of water
born diseases. The field level staff
must maintain the log book containing
1.
Source of water
2.
Date of Inspection
3.
Levels of
Chlorination at the time of Inspection (if it is OHT)
4.
Previously on which
day it was chlorinated (if it is OHT)
5.
Chlorinated
(yes/No) mention the date
6.
All the MHEO/CHO’s
has to ensure that the health staff should cross check the chlorination of
drinking water regularly.
7.
Check availability
of Chlorine tabs and bleaching powder at sub centers and phc’s
8.
Identify other
alternative drinking water sources
9.
Training should be
given to all the Panchayat & Health staff to usage of chloroscope and testing
for water chlorination
