Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has declared an all out war on swine flu outbreak, that claimed 12 lives in the State within a span of just 21 days in Janaury and five on a single day on Tuesday.
The Health Secretary was rushed to New Delhi on Wednesday to discuss the issue with the Centre and seek its full cooperation. The Chief Minsiter told The Hindu that the Government was launching an all out effort by taking emergency measures to mitigate the crisis all over Telangana.
The Cheif Minister said that he had spoken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking technical expertise of Central Government research institutions in tackling the swine flu outbreak that has spread its tentacles in all the ten districts of Telangana.
Following the death of five swine flue patietns on a single day in Hyderabad on Tuesday, the Chief Minister has called for a high-level meeting of health officials and Cabinet minsiters to chalk out a stretegy and launch an intensive drive to control and tide over the swine flu crisis.
So far, a whopping 221 positive cases have been reported in Telangana this Janaury alone.The Chief Minsiter also assured general public of the Government initiatives to not allow the situation to fester further and launch of immeidate action plan to control swine flu.
